What is in a Name?
Afrofuturism is a name, created by a white person (Peter Dryer). Do we embrace it, create another, or walk away from the entire concept?
We all are familiar with the word Africa; but do we really understand its significance and history? Africa was named by a white European.
According to the following resource: Kemetic History of Afrika; the definition of Alkebulan is as follows: “The ancient name of Africa is Alkebulan."
Alkebu-lan "mother of mankind" or "garden of eden". Alkebulan is the oldest and the only word of indigenous origin. It was used by the Moors, Nubians, Numidians, Khart-Haddans (Carthagenians), and Ethiopians.
